Political expert and serviceman told what is happening at the front: "Serious success"

war in Ukraine

Political expert and serviceman Alexander Musienko explained that the Russian assaults on the Pokrovsk direction are no longer so much military in nature as political and propaganda, Politeka reports.

He wrote about this in his blog.

As the expert reminds, Russia has been trying to capture Pokrovsk since last year, then in September Western and Ukrainian media, OSINT analysts warned that soon there would be battles in the city itself, gave disappointing forecasts, but none of this happened. As he emphasizes, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not allow the Russians to encircle Pokrovsk or half-encircle it, and at the same time destroyed a large number of enemy manpower and equipment.

"The goal now is to reach the administrative borders of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Why do I say that the goal is more propaganda? After all, today we cannot say that the enemy will have enough forces and resources after these battles to actively conduct military operations in the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Actively means with advances, with the ability to move forward. But, of course, to complete the task, tick the box and say that they have reached the borders of the Dnipropetrovsk region. They are trying to do this," explains Alexander Musienko.

So, he states, the Russians have really concentrated their forces in the Pokrovsk direction, assaults are underway, tactics are changing, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also working seriously, defending themselves and even successfully counterattacking.

"Recently, at a meeting, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Syrsky said that Ukraine managed to recapture 115 positions that were previously occupied by the enemy. This is quite a serious success. As General Syrsky emphasized, this is also due to serious actions and the correct organization of the active defense of our units," concludes Alexander Musienko.
