“Interesting news about oil prices”: expert told whether Russia will lose the ability to finance the war

Oil, Oil prices

Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musienko explained that a decrease in oil prices alone is not enough for Putin to end the war, sanctions and more weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are needed, Politeka reports.

He told about this in his blog.

“Interesting news about oil prices. Reuters and others report that prices have fallen. Previously, the budget of the Russian Federation was set at about 7,000 rubles per barrel, and now prices have fallen and are less than 4,000. Such trends are that the price is falling, rolling down, below that figure and that limit that Russia laid in its budget in order to replenish the revenue side. That is, we are already talking about a deficit and a reduction in income. US President Trump is very optimistic from this point of view, he says that this can really put pressure on Russia,” says Oleksandr Musienko.

Of course, he states, oil prices are a means of pressure on the Russian Federation, but not the only one. On the occasion, the expert recalls how Trump constantly complains about Biden and Obama, that they made many mistakes, but the former US presidents at least understood that it is necessary to constantly increase the sanctions pressure on Russia, that this will force Putin to retreat, since his economy will become worse and worse.
“But it is already obvious and clear to all of us, agree that this (ed. - the fall in oil prices and sanctions) is clearly not enough, we need to put much more pressure. And how to put pressure? "By strikes deep into Russian territory, strikes on their military facilities, strikes on occupied territories, shooting down their drones and missiles, so that they stop their terror," emphasizes Oleksandr Musienko.

In addition, the expert adds, all this must be combined with the strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the supply of more weapons to Ukraine from our Western partners.
