Not a parade, but a carnival: an expert told what happened in Moscow on May 9

parade in Moscow

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman said that this year in Moscow on May 9 there was not a parade, but some kind of carnival, since troops from countries that had never seen German Nazism marched, Politeka reports.

He told about this in his blog.

“Xi came to visit his distant northern province of Moscow, his local vassal Pu. And in general he was quite satisfied with the appearance, the youthfulness of his soldiers, etc. In fact, I understand what Putin wanted to achieve. He wanted to achieve the fact that, look, I am legitimate, here are many different politicians, they all came. He stood on some stairs, meeting them one by one. Moreover, the great and terrible comrade Xi came to me, so we are brothers with him, we are equals with him. This is how the mise-en-scene was built at this parade,” Mikhail Sheitelman comments.

The apotheosis of this parade, he notes, was not the passage of troops, but the appearance on stage of Putin and Xi Jinping, as this couple walked the red carpet and shook hands with various presidents, so to speak, political children.

“Putin tried to portray a duo that rules (ed. - the world). But for everyone, of course, it was not like that. Xi came to the vassal with an inspection, checked if everything was fine with him. And they gathered various other small vassals there, who certainly accepted their role. The main carnival, of course, was given to this by the representative of Rio de Janeiro, the President of Brazil, Lula de Silva. But he somehow did not shine, sat in the corner,” explains Mikhail Sheitelman.

As for the parade itself, the expert says, for example, in 2010, troops from the United States, Great Britain, and France marched there, and this time, troops from China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan, which somehow doesn't fit in with the victory over German Nazism.
