"They don't know what a 'ceasefire' means: an expert assessed the results of the talks in Istanbul

talks in Istanbul

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman said that the Russian delegation at the talks in Istanbul are bots, which, unfortunately, cannot be banned, and the results of the meeting are pure manipulation, Politeka reports.

He wrote about this in his blog.

"Bots come to us every day during the stream, and what can we do? Ban, ignore, troll. Here we have three options. And Umerov is sitting at the talks in Istanbul, he represents the state of Ukraine, he is the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and the same Kremlin bots are against him - Medinsky, Fomin and all the others. And they troll in the same way, they say the same nonsense there, as the bots write here: "Yes, we will capture Kyiv, yes, we will capture Kharkov, but we haven't started yet." These are exactly the same bots sent from the same Russia. Only Umerov doesn't have a ban button, no way to troll them in front of everyone or just ignore them. He has to respond with something," comments Mikhail Sheitelman.

In addition, he adds, for some reason the Russians think that everything can be taken by impudence, this is standard Russian policy, however, not everything always goes the way they want. As the expert recalls, Putin first scheduled the negotiations for May 15, but they took place the next day, Medinsky scheduled the negotiations for 10 am, but they began at 12:30.

But the results of these negotiations, he emphasizes, are manipulation, especially the wording that the parties will soon present their vision of the ceasefire. As the expert explains, in fact, the negotiation process has been going on for several months, there were meetings in Saudi Arabia, the whole world has already agreed that there should be a ceasefire without any conditions, and the Russians have gathered to present some of their own vision.

"To cease fire means to stop shooting. That's it, period. Everyone has already said that there will be no preconditions. That's one. Secondly, don't they know what "cease fire" means? Should we start telling them from Prometheus what fire is and how to stop it? Do you understand that this is a mockery? The result of the negotiations is a mockery, except for the thousand prisoners that we need. Everything else showed that these were absolutely mocking negotiations. And it's not that the delegation is a sham. It's not that, but that no one really intended to conduct any realistic negotiations with us to end the war," concludes Mikhail Sheitelman.
