In the US, used cars, which are most often imported to Ukraine, have increased in price after the introduction of Donald Trump's tariffs on new cars.

Demand in the secondary market has naturally increased, which has led to an increase in prices. The same will happen in Ukraine.

Experts have named popular used cars that have already increased in price. This has happened for the first time in two and a half years. So far, the growth has been 1%. However, further price increases are expected.

US President Donald Trump has tried twice unsuccessfully since the beginning of 2025 to introduce tariffs of 25% on foreign cars imported into the US. He succeeded for the third time. Because of this, the cheapest cars will become more expensive even in Ukraine.

The average price of used cars aged 1 to 5 years last increased in October 2022. Prices have been virtually unchanged since October 2024, but they rose $317 in March, reflecting a lack of used car supply relative to demand.

This imbalance will only worsen if new car prices rise, attracting more buyers to used cars.
