Tried to put a good face on a bad game, - political strategist on Trump's conversation with Putin

Trump

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman commented on Trump's second call to Putin and said that the third could even be slept through, since there would be nothing new and no progress, Politeka reports.

He wrote about this in his blog.

As the expert says, Trump was once a Hollywood star, he hosted the show "The Candidate Show", but the ratings were constantly falling, and so in the 14th season they decided to replace Trump with Schwarzenegger. Of course, he notes, any show loses ratings over the years if nothing is changed, and the same thing happened with Trump's second call to Putin, because the first call was much more interesting.

"We are not expecting surprises. We have already understood in general that there is nothing special to expect. And it must be said that in the first season Trump still performed more interestingly, because after the conversation with Putin he simply left and did not hold any press conferences, showing his contempt for the result, realizing that it was a failure. It seems to me that this time he behaved more shamefully. He performed unworthy of a real Hollywood star, tried to put a good face on a bad game, pretend that something worked out when nothing worked out, tried to create a peace process out of shit and sticks. This is what Trump ultimately did. His star, alas, went out,” comments Mikhail Sheitelman.

But on the “Walk of Fame,” he notes, there is another star of the president, the first was Reagan. According to the expert, Reagan’s star did not go out, because, having become president, he defeated the evil empire, destroyed the USSR, but Trump, having won the election, never realized that he is no longer a real estate dealer. And in general, he emphasizes, Trump's skill in making deals is questionable, so one shouldn't expect much from the conversation with Putin.

"He attacked the Chinese, then rolled back. A great deal, right? He spoiled relations with Denmark, tried to occupy Greenland, but somehow backed down. He introduced tariffs on 180 countries, backed down. And I'm not surprised by his six bankruptcies, I'm not surprised by the drop in interest (ed. - in the call to Putin). I think we'll hear what he says in the third call in the morning. Shouldn't we sleep? Wait? His star, alas, has gone out," emphasizes Mikhail Sheitelman.
