"Merz has decided to become a leader": an expert told whether Ukraine will receive Taurus missiles

Merz

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman said that German Chancellor Merz has started to declare himself quite loudly, to help Ukraine, so he can become the new leader of the free West, Politeka reports.
He wrote about this in his blog.

As the expert says, during all 4 years of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, one of the Western leaders came to the forefront in the issue of supporting Ukraine. In the first days of the invasion, he recalls, when the NATO Secretary General was jumping around the stage shouting "Just don't escalate," and Scholz was sending us helmets, Blinken came to the forefront, then Johnson and Ursula von der Leyen came to replace him, then there was Biden at some point, Macron.

"In general, each time someone suddenly became a leader, someone came to the forefront. It is very good that the West is not a single entity, but an association of many independent leaders. And today, it seems, Friedrich Merz has decided to become a leader. We can only applaud and support Merz in every possible way in this endeavor,” Mikhail Sheitelman states.

In particular, he says, Merz stated that Germany, France, Great Britain and the United States lifted restrictions on Ukraine regarding the use of long-range weapons. The news, the expert states, thundered loudly, there was indignation in the Kremlin, but then he clarified that all these restrictions had been lifted several months ago, he simply summed up what had been happening all this time.

“And he declared the need to supply Ukraine with long-range weapons. And then everyone said: “Wow! So Taurus are flying to us!” I am not sure that they are flying to us. That’s one. Secondly, we will find out that the Taurus have arrived only when they fall on the heads of the Russians, when the Russian Federation announces. Neither the Germans nor we will announce this. Germany has changed its policy and does not officially name the types of weapons that are sent to Ukraine,” Mikhail Sheitelman reasons.
