"They are trying to put on a pathetic show": expert explains what will happen at the June 2 talks in Istanbul

negotiations in Istanbul

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman explained why the Russians have not yet given Ukraine their memorandum with conditions and what will happen at the June 2 talks in Istanbul, Politeka reports.

He wrote about this in his blog.

"Now they are trying to put on a pathetic show, like we are defining the rules here. Why are they doing this? Like we are dictating the terms to you. We called you to Istanbul on the 2nd and will hand you the terms of capitulation. This is what winners do, but the Russians are not winners," Mikhail Sheitelman emphasizes.

As the expert recalls, this is what the US did when they defeated Yugoslavia and called in its representatives to dictate the order of troop withdrawal to them, they also called in Iraqi representatives and the Germans, all this happened because the Americans won. And so the Russians, he states, want to look like the very people who called us in to dictate something.

According to the expert, the main deception will be that the Russians will not even bring their memorandum with the conditions for a truce and peace to Istanbul on June 2. Instead, he claims, the Russians will tell us everything orally about the capitulation, about the Polovtsians, about the Pechenegs, about how many more people Ukraine will lose, and so on, that is, it will be an oral memorandum.

"Why are they afraid to publish it? They are afraid that it will fall into our hands and become a document, that it will fall into the hands of the Americans and become a document. After all, they were afraid to talk in front of the Americans (ed. - at the first round of negotiations in Istanbul). They are afraid of publicity, they are afraid of publicity. Who is usually afraid of publicity? The one who is a criminal is afraid of publicity. An honest person has nothing to hide. “And the Russians, as a criminal country, are afraid of publicity for their demands,” explains Mikhail Sheitelman.
