As long as Putin lives, the Russian-Ukrainian war will last: expert opinion

Putin

Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musienko said that a combination of negative factors in Russia, including Putin's deteriorating health, could indeed lead to the end of the war, Politeka reports.
He said this in his blog.
"Zelensky says that real peace can only come after Putin. He is absolutely right. But an interim solution is possible, and the President of Ukraine calls this interim solution a ceasefire, probably for a long time. So what does this mean? To stop active hostilities, to reduce the intensity of hostilities somewhat. Let's be honest, maybe someone won't like it, but all this contains signs of a frozen conflict. No matter how you characterize it, it is exactly like this: to freeze the conflict and survive Putin," Oleksandr Musienko claims.

The expert also recalls President Zelensky's statement during his visit to Germany, even a hint: "We hope that by June 2026 the war will already be over."

"At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky did not specify whether he means that the full phase of the war will end, or we will live in a ceasefire regime that will last not for 30 days, but for 60, 90, in the future, perhaps for months and even years, we cannot rule this out either. Or will this already be the end of the war? If this is the end of the war, perhaps the head of the Ukrainian state has certain information, in particular medical and not only, which gives him grounds to say and predict how much longer Putin can live. Perhaps he has until next summer 2026," Oleksandr Musienko thinks.

According to the expert, this may be a combination of factors that will lead to the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war. That is, he explains, the economic situation in Russia will deteriorate significantly, the Russian military-industrial complex will not be able to quickly absorb the funds allocated for weapons production, due to Kadyrov's health problems, wars will begin between Chechen clans, the confrontation in the Caucasus will spread to other regions, and something will happen to Putin.
