Senators, the Public, and the Media: Expert Explains How to Persuade the Trump Administration to Provide Aid to Ukraine

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that through members of Congress, organizations, and public opinion, Ukraine can reach the White House to secure assistance, according to Politeka.
He shared this in his blog.
“We are waiting for the U.S. to plan its 2026 budget—what will be supplied and what they will allocate. So far, we haven’t received additional aid packages for 2025, especially air defense systems, particularly Patriot systems, which we urgently need. But the fight for these decisions continues,” said Oleksandr Musiienko.
According to the expert, in order to work with the U.S. in this direction, it is essential to understand how the system works there. That means, he explains, engaging with think tanks—non-governmental organizations that shape policy and make proposals—as well as working with congressional offices, senators, directly with each of them individually, trying to explain the situation so they would draft the relevant bills, promote them, and advocate for them, including through the media.
Additionally, the expert notes, it is of course necessary to work with the State Department, the Pentagon, every relevant organization and institution—and only then reach the White House. He also emphasizes the importance of engaging with those who shape U.S. policy, who have large social media audiences, and organizing various events for Americans—with the help of the Ukrainian embassy, of course.
“America has been and remains our strategic partner. No matter what happens, who the president of the United States is, or what decisions are made, the U.S. was, is, and will remain a strategic partner for us. And we must continue to develop cooperation and interaction with them. Not just develop—but deepen it. That’s exactly what the president is trying to do,” Musiienko concluded.
