"There Is Not a Single Chinese Initiative That Has Succeeded," – Expert on China’s Peace Plan

China

Military servicemen and political experts Oleksandr Musiienko and Taras Berezovets explained why the China-Brazil peace plan has disappeared from the public discourse and why China is not pressuring Russia, Politeka reports.

They discussed this in the podcast "After the War."

According to Oleksandr Musiienko, the West still leads in peace initiatives, because even China’s peace plan—originally consisting of 12 points and later reduced to 6—has faded away. As he recalls, China's special envoy Li Hui traveled across Global South countries, then presented the China-Brazil peace plan, but it has now vanished from the broader conversation.

“No, it still exists—nobody has officially rejected the China-Brazil plan. Since 2024, no one has withdrawn from it, the six points still stand. It’s just not being considered right now because Russia refuses to adhere to it. One of the points is to stop attacking civilians and critical infrastructure. What’s the point? Is Russia going to sign and follow that? It violates these provisions itself,” explains Taras Berezovets.

As the expert notes, China continues to promote this peace plan, but it operates based on long-term strategies—thinking 100 years ahead. According to him, the Chinese have already metaphorically “divided up” Russia like a pie—they’ve long decided which parts they’ll take for themselves, which ones will go to North Korea, and which to someone else.

“Many people overestimate China’s foreign policy. I don’t underestimate it—but I look at it realistically. There is not a single Chinese initiative that has succeeded. Not one. And what about Trump? Trump benefits here. What does Trump say? Sell me your minerals, sell me your rare earths, sell me your raw materials—and I’ll use them to make weapons I need to contain you,” Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
