"The war will be ended, but not concluded": military expert gives forecast for the end of summer

war

Military expert Oleg Starikov explained that the current U.S. position is not to let Ukraine lose, and not to let Russia win — but if proper peace negotiations don’t begin, the war will drag on, Politeka reports.

He shared his thoughts on his channel:

"As far as I can analyze the latest data — since every day we receive new information through the media about what’s happening — all global players are in favor of continuing the war; everyone is gaining some kind of dividends from it," said Oleg Starikov.

According to the expert, the biggest beneficiaries of the war are China, India, Europe, and America. Meanwhile, Ukraine is facing the most serious problems — and not only on the front line, but also in the political sphere.

In his view, the U.S. has essentially pulled out of the war but is doing everything possible to prevent Ukraine from losing and Russia from winning. Russia, he notes, does not want to end the war — this is evident from all its actions — while Ukraine at least expresses willingness for negotiations. "We are always ready for talks, even if a third round is again limited to humanitarian issues and doesn’t move on to political matters," he said.

"Trump wants to end the war. But the root causes, the compromise — exactly what the Russian Federation, what the Kremlin demands — the West is clearly not ready for that. So what’s my conclusion regarding the end of the war? If by the end of summer the situation doesn’t move toward political negotiations, then the war will shift into a prolonged phase. That is, the war will be ended, but not concluded. In other words, negotiations will continue — third round, fourth round, fifth round — but active hostilities will not stop," Oleg Starikov explained.
