Trump Administration Shifts Strategy: Expert Says There Will Be No More Appeasement of Putin

Trump

Political expert and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that against the backdrop of growing threats and new challenges, the Trump administration is increasingly shifting its strategy toward containment—not only of China but also of Russia, Politeka reports.
He discussed this in his blog.

As the expert notes, Trump has confirmed that the U.S. will sell weapons to allies for further delivery to Ukraine. Therefore, he concludes, the period of uncertainty—when we were not entirely sure about Trump’s position—is now over. There is now clear understanding that American weapons will be supplied.

“I’ve been reviewing a project developed by American scholars and experts, including those from The Heritage Foundation, which is closely affiliated with the Republican Party. It very clearly and accurately describes the steps the U.S. should take in foreign policy aimed at strengthening national security. It points out that the U.S., no matter what, will focus on containing both China and Russia, particularly in matters related to the Arctic. Trump has repeatedly emphasized that the Arctic is a crucial and strategic issue. So, we can say that deterring Russia is part of the U.S. national security strategy, and the Trump administration's policy is increasingly adapting to that strategy,” Musiienko claims.

And that’s the right approach, the expert emphasizes, because Russia has no intention of stopping due to any ultimatums from Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated openly that they will continue to pursue the goals of the so-called “special military operation.”

“If we also consider the fact that direct air travel has resumed between Pyongyang and Moscow—and that Russia may try to use civilian transport as a cover to bring in North Korean troops to escalate the situation on the front lines—then these threats are clearly real. That means we need to do even more, strike more military targets of the aggressor state, strengthen cooperation with our partners, hold the line, and continue the fight,” Musiienko concludes.
