A Decisive Battle Is Near: Expert Speaks on the Defense of Pokrovsk

war

Military expert Oleg Starikov has explained the strategic objective the enemy is pursuing before the end of this year’s summer military campaign, as reported by Politeka.
He shared this information on his channel.

“The Pokrovsk direction is the main axis of the enemy’s offensive,” said Starikov. “Last year, I predicted that a so-called decisive battle would occur somewhere. I now believe that the defense of the Pokrovsk-Myrhorod agglomeration will be the decisive battle of the summer military campaign of 2025.”

As for the Zaporizhzhia direction, the expert notes, it is a secondary or diversionary strike — the same applies to the Kostyantynivka direction. However, he emphasizes that the Kostyantynivka direction poses a danger to Pokrovsk, as advances in that area would allow Russian forces to threaten the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk-Myrhorod agglomeration and cut off the main logistical route to Dobropillia.

“Regarding the Pokrovsk direction, the situation was already serious as of Saturday,” Starikov continued. “Objective surveillance tools showed several individuals — enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups or forward units — at the central railway station in Pokrovsk. We reinforced our forces there and localized the situation.”

In the Myrhorod direction, the expert notes, a tactical crisis is currently developing. According to him, there are two heavily fortified positions in that area, but if the enemy takes control of them, the crisis could quickly escalate to an operational-tactical level.
