The U.S. Supports the Coalition of the Willing Mission: Expert Says There Will Be No Budapest Memorandum 2.0

Trump

Political expert and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that Ukraine has proven its capability and should therefore receive proper security guarantees, with the United States playing a key role, according to Politeka.
He shared this in his blog.

“We have proven our subjectivity to the West, we have demonstrated our capability, and we have shown our readiness to fight for our freedom and our values. And what we need is not another Budapest Memorandum, but the deployment of troops and weapons from our partners. Secondly, we need joint projects in the defense industry so that Ukraine is flooded with weaponry. And thirdly, we need the removal of any taboos on the supply of weapons, air defense and missile defense systems to Ukraine, as well as the creation of a powerful air defense shield around the country and its integration into a unified European security space,” Musiienko stated.

According to the expert, once the intensity of hostilities decreases, and a ceasefire or truce is achieved, foreign contingents will be able to enter Ukrainian territory and guarantee security. Of course, he noted, the Kremlin is against this — it will undoubtedly be a stumbling block in any negotiations. However, if this is a unified position of the West, then Putin will simply have no choice.

“The key point, as President Zelenskyy also emphasized, is that the United States supports and is ready to coordinate and help implement security guarantees together with the Coalition of the Willing. And what does that mean? It means that the UK, France, and other European countries are now free to act,” Oleksandr Musiienko stressed.

He also recalled that when the Coalition of the Willing was being formed, there were many questions raised — in particular, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer insisted that the idea of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine had to be coordinated with the United States, and that actions should be taken jointly. And now, Musiienko concluded, there is a green light from the U.S., marking significant progress in the development of potential security guarantees — the details of which will be revealed later.
