Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musiienko said that Trump has stopped merely threatening sanctions and stated he would consider further steps, meaning sanctions are already close, Politeka reports.
He shared this in his blog.

According to the expert, Trump is gradually reappearing in public amid rumors about his health condition. He explained that Trump is partly to blame himself, since he used to gather his ministers and journalists in his office every day, so missing one or two such meetings was enough for people to start speculating something had happened, even if it had not. Overall, the expert noted, the US president is currently more focused on domestic policy, acting “like a good sheriff” in Washington — tackling petty crime and homelessness on the streets, with Chicago next in line.

“We are waiting for further statements from Trump, particularly regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war. He said he was very disappointed in Putin and would be thinking about what to do next. A serious strategy will now be developed. I would pay attention to this statement because previously Trump had said that harsher sanctions against Putin could be introduced. Now he is saying that he will think about what needs to be done. This is the difference. So finally, there may be some real action from the American president in the form of sanctions,” explained Oleksandr Musiienko.

The expert also pointed to Putin’s recent remark that Russia might allow joint operation of the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant with the US, a topic they indirectly touched upon.

“Why did he mention the nuclear plant? His knees trembled a little because Trump is thinking. At this point, they can predict Trump less, and it may happen that the US will impose sanctions not only against India but also against other countries. This would hit Putin, this would hit Russia. That’s why he started throwing out such talking points that are unrelated to fundamental issues like a ceasefire, but rather create the illusion of a negotiation process,” Musiienko emphasized.
