UN General Assembly: Expert assessed whether a meeting between Trump, Zelenskyy, and Putin could take place

Trump-Putin Meeting in Alaska

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman said that the criminal Putin might fly to the UN General Assembly in New York for a meeting with Trump and Zelenskyy, but he still seems to be waiting for Ukraine’s capitulation, reports Politeka.
He shared this in his blog.

“As Rubio told us, there will be a new meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy. A new Trump–Zelenskyy meeting has unexpectedly been scheduled in New York. Well, how unexpected? Next week, on Monday, the UN General Assembly begins. And somewhere around that time, we don’t know exactly when, a meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump is apparently planned, either during or after,” noted Mikhail Sheitelman.

According to the expert, one important question arises: in what format will this meeting take place? As he argues, Zelenskyy might attend together with eight European leaders — for example, Ursula von der Leyen, Macron, Merz, and others — or he might be alone, in which case Trump would try to pressure him into something, and that would be concerning.

“But there is something that most likely will not happen, because concerns immediately arose about it — Putin’s participation. Because, in theory, Putin could come to the General Assembly despite everything. Although Putin is a wanted war criminal, first of all, the United States did not sign the Rome Statute; secondly, the UN is extraterritorial, which means he has the right to come there and speak. Do you understand the intrigue? In theory, on Monday, Putin, Trump, and Zelenskyy could all be there. Putin, Trump, and Zelenskyy at the same event. Which means backroom negotiations could take place. I am speaking hypothetically now. But I believe that Zelenskyy and Trump will be there, and Putin will not show up,” Sheitelman reasoned.

Moreover, the expert noted that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov recently stated that there are no grounds to speak of a trilateral summit between Russia, the US, and Ukraine. Putin has said everything already, but there has been no reasonable response to his signals. In other words, he explained, the Kremlin has once again declared that since there is no capitulation, there will be no meeting.
