They’ve gone from ATVs, motorcycles, and donkeys — now to horses – expert on the degradation of the Russian army

Political analyst and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that Russia has started reviving cavalry units, which once again points to serious problems in their army caused by the war against Ukraine, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his blog.

“Meanwhile, changes are happening in Russia — their army is evolving. I once said that we would eventually hear about cavalry reappearing in the Russian ranks — and now it’s happening. On the one hand, we see evolution and the development of drones. No one is underestimating the enemy, and I certainly won’t do that. But this is a fact, not something we made up. Here's the news: the commander of the Russian Special Operations Forces has started training mounted assault groups for operations on the Ukrainian front. It's a way to strengthen low-tech mobility in conditions of exhaustion among Russian units on the front line,” said Oleksandr Musiienko.

According to the expert, the first to report on these “innovative” ideas was war correspondent Semen Pegov, who proudly announced the revival of Russian cavalry on his Telegram channel — although, as we know, even Russian soldiers often mock and laugh at their generals for such decisions.

The initiative, he continues, was organized by the commander of the "Storm" special forces detachment of the 9th brigade, part of the 51st army deployed in the occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, with the callsign “Khan.” Interestingly, Musiienko notes, Russia even found “advantages” to using horses: they have good night vision, don’t need roads for a final assault push, and their instincts can help them avoid mines.

“They’ve already tried ATVs, motorcycles, donkeys — now it’s horses. Things are far from great in the Russian Armed Forces, no matter how hard they try to show otherwise. I believe this may also be one of the reasons why Trump has recently changed his position on Ukraine. At least for now. I’m not saying it’s permanent — knowing how unpredictable the American leader can be, anything is possible,” Musiienko concluded.
