“Built with Ukraine”: Expert Explains Why It’s Beneficial for Europe to Invest in Ukraine’s Missile Program

Political expert and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that the Lithuanian delegation was presented with the “Long Neptune,” which could attract funding for the development of the missile program, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this in his blog.

“The demonstration was personally conducted by Defense Minister Shmyhal for the Lithuanian delegation. The new modification of the missile has visual differences, notably two lateral bulges, the exact purpose of which has not been disclosed. However, it is understood that these are likely intended for the installation of additional fuel tanks to extend the missile’s range — hence the proud name ‘Long Neptune’,” said Oleksandr Musiienko.

In addition, he noted that Shmyhal stated Ukrainian companies are ready to begin producing weapons in partner countries as early as tomorrow, within the framework of the “Built with Ukraine” program. In other words, the expert explains, Ukraine is open to cooperation; Europe can invest in our missile program, and we will jointly engage in production — even on NATO territory — which is advantageous from a security standpoint.

“When we talk about our missile program, one of the key elements is funding. This program is costly, and the money needs to be found. But where to find it? Considering the threats Russia poses to European countries, they too should be interested in obtaining an effective deterrence tool — such as the Neptune missile and others, including long-range drones, especially those tested under wartime conditions,” Musiienko explained.

Thus, the expert concludes, Europe together with Ukraine could benefit from acquiring the Neptune, Flamingo, Hell, and other domestic developments — all that’s needed is investment. In his opinion, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, and all the countries of Northern Europe would be interested in this. It would also serve as another unifying factor around Ukraine — and the Kremlin would know they have deterrent weapons at their doorstep.
