Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko said that Zelensky did not promise to nominate Trump for the Nobel Prize in vain if the war ends; it is meant to push the United States to act decisively, Politeka reports.
He discussed this in his blog.

As Musiienko noted, Zelensky said Ukraine would nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he succeeds in stopping the war with Russia and achieves a ceasefire. In his view, the U.S. president should take that signal positively, especially after success in the peace settlement between Israel and Hamas.

“There are signs that this war will end, at least at this stage. I treat such declarations cautiously, so we’ll see, but Hamas declares its readiness to stop the fire and end the war. In other words, active negotiations are underway and, apparently, at least the hot phase of this confrontation will stop for some time — I don’t know for how long,” Musiienko comments.

Thus, the expert states, Trump will credit himself with advancing peace in the Middle East, but of course he would also like to achieve a settlement of the Russian‑Ukrainian war. That is why, he emphasizes, Zelensky makes such statements, and these words will certainly please Trump; he will read those signals and continue making efforts to achieve peace.

“Right now everything is focused on increasing pressure on Russia, giving Ukraine more weapons and, in particular, Tomahawks. By the way, a large Ukrainian delegation is going to the United States next week to negotiate about money, about weapons, about air‑defense systems, about further pressure on Russia, and about the transfer of additional armaments, including Tomahawk missiles, and possibly others as well. We are concentrating on Tomahawk, but the U.S. has other types of weapons — Barracuda and more — which would significantly help strengthen our strikes deep into Russian territory,” Oleksandr Musiienko says.
