Expert and Serviceman on the Pokrovsk Direction: “The Enemy Is Forced to Retreat”

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko spoke about the situation on the front lines, Russia’s plans for the spring-summer campaign, and outlined where the main offensive direction will be, according to Politeka.

He shared this in his blog.

“The Defense Forces continue their fight, striking the occupiers and forcing the enemy to retreat in the southern part of the Pokrovsk direction, as noted by the spokesperson of the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group, Mr. Trehubov. The actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units have pushed back the enemy and strengthened our defense. Just like last week, right before Easter, when Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi brought us good news that 16 km² around Pokrovsk had been liberated, now we again hear that the enemy is being forced to retreat,” Oleksandr Musiienko noted.

He emphasized that counteractions and counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to dislodge the enemy from well-fortified positions from which they had planned to continue offensive operations. According to the expert, this was also made possible thanks to Ukrainian units disrupting Russian logistics.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces are preventing the enemy from developing offensive operations, including in the Sumy region, as noted by Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi, who has also been active in that area. Measures are being taken to prevent the enemy from consolidating directly on the territory of the Sumy region,” Musiienko added.

At the same time, the expert notes that the Russians have defined their goals for the spring-summer campaign — to reach the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. That is why we are seeing increased activity in the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions. In addition, he warns that there will be other areas of attack as well, with the goal of stretching and exhausting the Ukrainian Armed Forces and distracting them from the main threats.
