Russia Tested the “Burevestnik” Missile: Expert Says Putin Wants to Influence the U.S. Position

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko said that the United States has taken a hard line toward Russia, and, unable to change that, Putin has once again decided to frighten the West with the prospect of nuclear war, Politeka reports.
He described this in his blog.

According to the Kremlin’s special representative Dmitriyev, Musiienko says, Ukraine and Russia are close to a diplomatic solution, but the dialogue must continue without unrealistic proposals — proposals that, in fact, are being put forward by Moscow. Dmitriyev, he adds, also claimed that sanctions against Russia will change nothing, which of course provoked the U.S. Treasury official Bessent, whom the media call an expert who knows where and how to strike to cause maximum pain; Bessent pointed out that Moscow will feel the consequences immediately.

“It seems that the channel of possible contact through Dmitriyev via the representative Witkoff is not currently producing the result Russia needs. Positions are increasingly being strengthened by the U.S. Secretary of State, and by Rubio, who also serves as President Trump’s national security adviser, as well as by the group around U.S. Treasury official Bessent,” Oleksandr Musiienko asserts.

And Putin, Musiienko notes, is responding to the failure of his diplomatic track with terror against Ukraine’s civilian population and with the rattling of nuclear weapons at the West. As the expert reports, Russia has tested a new nuclear-capable cruise missile, “Burevestnik,” which, according to the Russian Chief of the General Staff, can fly 14,000 km, circle the globe, and remain undetected by satellites and missile-defense systems.

“The United States and the Soviet Union worked on nuclear-powered missiles during the Cold War but ultimately decided to shelve those projects, considering them too dangerous for the world. And Putin is now putting life on the planet at risk. He is threatening something that endangers not only Ukraine, Europe, or the U.S., but the entire world. This is another indicator, a sign and a signal that Putin must be stopped. And the Kremlin needs this to intimidate the U.S. and the entire world, to put them under the threat of the start of a major war, possibly even a nuclear confrontation,” Oleksandr Musiienko explains.
