A Great War or Major Negotiations: Expert Explains Why Russians Showed the New “Burevestnik” Missile

Putin

Military expert Oleh Starikov explained that Russia demonstrated the “Burevestnik” missile in order to initiate major negotiations with the United States and to bring back the Budapest meeting, reports Politeka.
He discussed this on his own channel.

“This cruise missile is intended only for the United States. It was shown to the U.S. It poses no threat on the European theater of military operations, and even less so in the Russian–Ukrainian war. It is exclusively part of strategic nuclear armaments directed at the U.S. — that’s the key point,” emphasizes Oleh Starikov.

According to the expert, several elements are significant:
first, during the video presentation, Putin appeared in military uniform — an important signal;
second, the Chief of the General Staff reported on the testing of the strategic nuclear triad;
third, Putin ordered the creation of infrastructure for the “Burevestnik” missile and defined its role within Russia’s strategic nuclear forces.
In other words, Starikov explains, all this was done to demonstrate new weapons capabilities to the United States.

The expert notes that this missile is not particularly fast — any aircraft could catch up with and shoot it down — but the challenge is finding it. The “Burevestnik” can fly around the globe for long periods, bypassing air defense zones.

“The political conclusion — why was this done? I see it as one of the intelligence indicators that major negotiations between Russia and the United States are about to begin. Once again, major negotiations,” says Oleh Starikov.

According to him, it is obvious that the meeting between Trump and Putin in Budapest, which was previously canceled, will take place in the same location but at a later date — possibly, he speculates, by the end of November or early December.
