Intense Fighting, Fog, and Drones: Military Expert Assesses the Situation in the Zaporizhzhia Direction

Political expert and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiyenko shared insights on the situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy's plans, and whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAH) will be able to stop Russia's advance, reports Politeka.
He discussed this in his blog.
According to the Southern Defense Forces, the expert explains, intense fighting has been ongoing for several days in the Oleksandrivsk and Hulyaipil directions, with up to a hundred clashes reported over the past few days. This area is now approaching the same level of intensity as the Pokrovsk direction. Additionally, the military reported, in order to save the lives of personnel, the Defense Forces had to withdraw from the settlements of Novouspenivske, Nove, Okhotnyche, Uspenivka, and Novomykolaivka, while fighting continues near Yablukove, Rivnopillia, and Solodke. Overall, in this direction, the enemy aims to create a situation similar to the Dobropillia salient.
"Later, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that the enemy had captured three settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, taking advantage of weather conditions, low visibility, and fog, which made it harder for our drones to operate effectively, and in some cases, the enemy’s movements went unnoticed," notes Oleksandr Musiyenko.
As a result, he observes, the logistical threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Hulyaipil area have significantly increased. Additionally, the expert adds, Russian forces have also intensified their activities in the Novopavlivsk direction, where some advancement has been recorded over the past few months. In general, he explains, the enemy is trying to stretch our defense line along the front, attacking not only in the Pokrovsk direction near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad but also expanding offensive actions in the Novopavlivsk area, effectively targeting Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
"Our Defense Forces are working to halt the aggressor’s offensive potential and prevent them from gaining momentum. I believe that by the end of the year, Russian forces will try to capture as much territory as possible. Furthermore, if Trump’s position becomes significantly firmer, sharper, and more categorical toward Russia than it is now, and with appropriate pressure, we might reach negotiations regarding a ceasefire," sums up Oleksandr Musiyenko.
