Trump Returns the Candies: Expert Reveals India is Already Cutting Back on Russian Oil Purchases

Trump

Political technologist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that the U.S. not only imposed sanctions on Russian oil and is pressuring India to abandon it, but is also preparing to crash Russia's revenues through Venezuela, reports Politeka. He shared these insights on his blog.

According to Sheitelman, Trump decided to gradually lift tariffs on India because it seems India has come to its senses and reconsidered its stance on Russian oil, reducing its imports. In other words, the expert points out, we are seeing Trump's use of both the stick and the carrot.

"Totalitarian Trump is a specific carrot and a specific fist. Well, what carrot? First, Trump took the candies from the Indians, but if they behave well, he will return one at a time. That is, he doesn't give new ones. Just like with us. He took weapons, intelligence data, and if we behave well, he will return them one by one. There are no new candies, we didn't get the Tomahawks, but the ones we had were returned. The same goes for the Indians. And at first, he tried to give candies in advance to the Russians. It didn't work. They didn’t appreciate it, they didn’t understand, and thought they could go it alone," Sheitelman comments.

However, the expert notes, the main blow Trump is dealing is, of course, not to Lukoil, not to India, but to Venezuela. As reported by The Telegraph, an American aircraft carrier has reached Venezuela, which means it's time to target Venezuelan infrastructure and overthrow Maduro.

"By removing Maduro, as The Telegraph writes, the U.S. will immediately unblock Venezuelan oil exports and crash prices, which will hit Russian revenues. In this scenario, oil prices could fall to $30 per barrel. The expert also notes that this is a plan not just for Russia, but for Iran as well. Both Russia and Iran would be severely affected at such a price. And right now, it's highly advantageous for Trump to attack Venezuela, he can do it. Venezuela could blow up the oil market and destroy Putin," Mikhail Sheitelman explains.
