Money and Fear: Expert Explains How Europe Is Trying to Persuade Belgium to Give Ukraine a Reparations Loan

Europe

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman explained that the issue of financial aid to Ukraine has become urgent, and in order to speed up a decision, European leaders have begun making predictions that there will be no peace anytime soon, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this in his blog.

According to the expert, Macron shared an interesting story — it turns out he knows when the Russian-Ukrainian war will end, though there is no reason to rejoice, because in his view peace will not come before 2027. And in general, he emphasizes, over the past few days many similar forecasts have appeared; in particular, the President of Finland also said that there will be no peace in the coming months.

“And that’s when I realized what was going on. Because this is all about financial aid. Macron and Stubb are now trying to get the European Union, especially the Belgians, to provide a loan to Ukraine. That’s why they are using such phrasing — about when the war will end. Ursula also stated that the war should end at the end of 2026. She wrote this in a letter to the leaders of EU member states. That’s where all of this comes from — forecasts pouring out like from a cornucopia as part of negotiations to secure funding. So you shouldn’t take everything literally,” Mikhail Sheitelman explains.

As for Orbán, the expert says, he has his own forecast: Russia will win, Ukraine has no chance, further financial aid is sheer madness that is destroying the European Union — 185 billion euros have already been burned, they want to burn more, time is on Russia’s side, and so on. This should not continue, he says; the war must be stopped.

“Well then go and stop it. Go to Moscow and stop it. You have friends there, you’ve been there. So go and stop the war. Go to Putin and say: ‘Stop, Volodya.’ Why shout? Who is Mr. Orbán even addressing? He’s calling for the war to be stopped. So go and stop it. Somehow it didn’t work. Neither Trump managed to go and stop it, nor Orbán. So many smart people. So many. He’s going to stop the war,” Mikhail Sheitelman emphasizes.
