“A attempt to stop Russia for a while” – expert on the U.S. peace plan

Rubio, Witkoff

Political strategist Mykhailo Sheitelman explained that the U.S. peace plan, if Russia signs it, is a temporary piece of paper; the real big questions will be decided by Trump and Xi, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on his blog.

“You think that some document is being written now that will become a new world order. But I don’t think so. To my deep regret, any document that is being written now, if for some reason it is accepted by all sides — by America, Europe, Ukraine, and Russia — will in any case be very temporary. It’s a trivial little paper that has value only at the moment of signing, and whose lifespan is, at best, years, and at worst, months,” Mykhailo Sheitelman claims.

According to him, no matter what is written in this peace plan or in whose favor it is written, it will still not be a new world, because it is not for Russia to decide what the new world will look like. But the recent conversation between Trump and Xi — that is where, perhaps, the outlines of a new world system may truly begin to appear, one designed so that no country can change borders by force, and so on.

“And this little paper is purely an attempt to stop Russia for a while so it doesn’t stink up the place. That is, we’re just sweeping garbage under the bed. Suppose, theoretically, that some agreement is reached now — those 28 or 19 points — that’s sweeping garbage under the bed. It’s not a new world order. Whatever is said in there, everything will change in a completely different way, based on entirely different things,” Mykhailo Sheitelman explains.

And this peace plan, the expert emphasizes, even if the sides sign it, will not give us peace; it will not be the case that Ukraine can now relax for the next 20 years. As he reminds us, Trump always says he stopped the war, but never that he established peace — and those are completely different things.
