There are different ways to play: MP explained how to bypass the Kremlin’s demands on Ukraine for the sake of peace

Member of Parliament Oleksii Movchan explained that Ukraine must work with the U.S. peace plan so as not to lose a strategic partner, but overall Russia’s demands are so absurd that some of them are already fulfilled anyway, Politeka reports.

He said this on the program “Dialogues” with Ruslan Bortnyk.

“We don’t want to quarrel with the U.S., because this is also a matter of national security. The U.S. is our strategic partner. Somehow it happens that our relations with the U.S., with Trump and with his administration, always look like a sine wave. Today he’s friendly, and tomorrow he wakes up and hates,” Oleksii Movchan states.

Therefore, he notes, one can play these games with the U.S. peace plan and compromises, and it’s not even about concessions. Regarding language, the program’s guest says this is a speculative topic pushed specifically by the Russians — they heat it up here, and then our society also starts engaging in populism. It’s a bone you can play with in various ways. But it must be understood, he stresses, that the Russian language in Ukraine has no future for objective reasons.

“I’m not talking about concessions. They talk, for example, about ‘denazification’. This is just… I mean, they play this card, but where have you seen Nazis here? It’s nonsense. We can say that there will be no Nazis in Ukraine — please, that’s one point already fulfilled,” Oleksii Movchan emphasizes.

If the Russians mean by “denazification” some demand to revise the heroization of certain figures in Ukraine, the MP says this is, in fact, our internal historical matter, and it’s unlikely they’ve been fighting for almost four years because of that. As for the Moscow Patriarchate, he notes that the law does not ban a specific confession outright — only if it has ties to the aggressor state. So, the program guest concludes, in the U.S. peace plan and in Russia’s demands overall, there are points that can be played out.
