Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musienko shared that the former head of Turkey’s intelligence agency predicts a quick peace, but the only thing that will force Putin into negotiations is the collapse of the economy, as reported by Politeka. He discussed this in his blog.

According to the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, the expert explains, Ukraine and Russia are supposedly closer to peace now than ever before, having come closer to a compromise after seeing destruction and opportunities. A potential agreement could guarantee stability in the region for the next 50-70 years.

"By the way, Hakan Fidan is quite well-informed. He once headed Turkey’s foreign intelligence for a long time. And as you know, Turkey, directly or indirectly, is trying to be a mediator in the process wherever it can, especially in the Black Sea region where negotiations are also taking place, and they are assessing the situation. Therefore, Fidan’s opinion is worth listening to. His forecast is like this, but I’m not sure about the 50-70 years part," says Oleksandr Musienko.

At the same time, he notes that Hakan Fidan has previously made similar statements and predictions about the quick end of the Russia-Ukraine war. In contrast, The Economist reports that the Kremlin will not be ready for real negotiations and concessions at least until the end of the winter. Meanwhile, the expert reveals, Witkoff and Kushner are planning to meet with Putin on December 2 and continue negotiations, taking into account what was discussed in Florida with the Ukrainian delegation, including its proposals.

"Although it’s not a given that Putin will accept this, and it’s not certain he’ll be ready. It’s not easy for them either. After all, Rosneft's revenues from oil sales have dropped by 70% since the beginning of the year, so the economic situation is worsening and creating the backdrop for negotiations. But on what terms? Will the Kremlin accept these 19 points? Right now, there are serious doubts," Oleksandr Musienko concludes.
