“It will end sadly for them”: a soldier spoke about the possibility of Russia opening a new front

war

Art reconnaissance officer Arti Green assessed whether Russia could, within the next six months, open a new theater of hostilities on the border in the Chernihiv region in order to stretch the front line, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on the program “Antishow” with Ruslan Bortnik.

“This would be a great stupidity on their part. Can they, can’t they… I have no idea at all. February 24, 2022 was also a great stupidity on their part. That is, they are capable of stupidity. Therefore, I can’t say whether it will happen or not. But that it will end sadly for them is obvious to me. That is, they will spend additional resources, and we will get additional mobilization. But at critical moments in history, a state is capable of fairly radical steps. For example, the French parliament, hating de Gaulle, once invited him to rule under quite serious internal pressure,” Arti Green reflects.

As he recalls, at one time France was beaten by all of Europe, and then, as a result of a bunch of internal changes, the most powerful army in Europe was born there, which—had it not plunged into the adventurous story of the Moscow campaign—most likely would have continued to dominate Europe. That is, the soldier explains, expanding the front by the Russian Federation could become the trigger that forces Ukraine to mobilize in a new way.

“France’s resources were exhausted after about the fifth internal coup in Paris, and then somehow they appeared and devoured all of Europe. The question is not about resources, but about the state’s ability to mobilize them. Our current state is incapable of mobilizing anything, but who said it will always be like this? I am sure it won’t. If those who can change the situation feel the threat, they will change the state’s approach, and another state may turn out to be truly more effective,” Arti Green asserts.

According to the soldier, these events are difficult to predict; it’s all subjective, and there is also the role of personality in history. In France, he notes, besides Napoleon there was an entire constellation of outstanding generals, so there were people to pick up this story. And we, too, already have a whole group of outstanding commanders—after all, it’s been four years of war.
