A political strategist explained why Trump must not be allowed to switch to Russia’s side
Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman explained that Ukraine is working with Trump not in order to obtain help from him, but to prevent him from entering into a coalition with Russia and taking everything away from us, Politeka reports.
He said this on his blog.
“Of course not. What do you mean? Trump and helping are two incompatible words. They are antonyms. What are you talking about? What does ‘Trump will rush to help’ even mean? Are we asking him to help? On the contrary, it’s he who is asking us,” Mikhail Sheitelman emphasizes.
In particular, the expert notes, Trump wants to steal the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant from Ukraine and demands that we give him a part of it so that his son can mine cryptocurrency there. Also, he continues, Trump wants Ukraine to give Putin a piece of its land — Donbas, our most fortified defensive area — and also to recognize Crimea as Russian. This, the expert stresses, is not help, and we are not asking Trump for help.
“No, we are dealing with him for one purpose only: we need to protect ourselves from Trump — to prevent him from entering into a coalition with the Russians, to prevent him from fully switching to the Russians’ side in the war, to prevent him from supplying them with missiles, from striking Kyiv in order to force us. After all, to force us to hand over the Zaporizhzhia NPP, he could, for example, bomb our nuclear power plants himself with Tomahawk missiles. He is capable of that. And what do you think? If he stole someone else’s oil (ed. — Venezuela’s), just like that, for no particular reason… If he is planning to take Greenland away from Denmark…,” Mikhail Sheitelman comments.
Therefore, the expert concludes, one should not think that Trump wants to help while trying to steal the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant from us. No — he has helped no one and will help no one. Unless, he reasons, Trump does help — but not for free.
