“A Billion-Dollar Peace Council”: Expert Assesses Whether Europeans Will Agree to Trump’s Proposal

Political strategist Mykhailo Sheitelman said that Trump is flying to the World Economic Forum not to resolve important issues, but solely to collect money for a “Peace Council,” Politeka reports.

He said this on his blog.

“Right now Trump is demanding that 49 countries and the European Commission join the Peace Council and that each contribute a billion. He wants to come back from Davos with $50 billion in his pocket. By the way, we’re on the hook too. This is pure racketeering. Trump is collecting a billion dollars from every kiosk, have you noticed? Trump’s new obsession is a billion-dollar Peace Council,” Mykhailo Sheitelman notes.

According to the expert, this is fascism, Nazism—anything you like—but certainly not a Peace Council. Moreover, he points out that among the invitees, besides Belarus and Russia, there are many perfectly respectable countries, such as Italy, Spain, France, and the United Kingdom. So it is interesting whether they will sit next to Trump and say “yes, yes, yes,” or whether this phase of total acquiescence to the mad U.S. president will finally come to an end.

In this context, the expert also recalls that unfortunate NATO summit in The Hague, where the entire schedule was changed and rewritten just to avoid irritating Trump, as well as the signing of fake agreements on “Hamas” without the participation of Israel or Hamas itself. Therefore, he concludes, a lot will be decided for Europe in Davos—perhaps Denmark alone will oppose Trump, perhaps not.

“These could be yet another decisive days in world history. Yes, we have fighting at the front and in the sky, but there is no less important a battle in Davos. I said this war would grow into a world war. It has. It grew when Trump imposed tariffs. And one of the battles is in Davos, in Switzerland, in the mountains. A mountain battle. Trump’s crossing of the Alps. Will he succeed, or will they finish off the old man this time?” Mykhailo Sheitelman concludes.
