Ceasefire Agreement: Trump Calls Russia's War Against Ukraine "Obama’s War"

Trump recalled that Russia occupied the peninsula during Barack Obama’s presidency and claimed that Russia "would not have taken Crimea" if he had been president at the time.

Trump reiterated his stance that Russia would not have annexed Crimea under his administration and labeled the full-scale war as "Obama’s war."

When asked whether he would agree to a peace deal that includes ceding Crimea and other occupied territories to Russia, Trump replied, "We should only be talking about Crimea."

Additionally, the current U.S. President referred to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine as “Obama’s war.”

“This is a war that should never have happened. I call it the war that never should have occurred,” the U.S. president repeated once again.

Trump also stated that Russian has been spoken in Crimea historically, implying that the peninsula is now effectively Russian. He added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “understands this.”

"If Crimea remains with Russia, we should be talking only about Crimea, because that's what everyone always talks about. Crimea will remain with Russia. And Zelensky understands it, and everyone understands that it’s been theirs for a long time," Trump said in an interview with the magazine.

Earlier, it was reported that the United States plans to present its own peace proposal to end the Russia-Ukraine war during a meeting with Ukrainian and European delegations scheduled for April 23 in London. The U.S. initiative reportedly includes seven key points.
