The Price of Time: Expert Assesses Whether Russia’s High Losses Will Reduce Its Offensive Capabilities on the Frontline

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that time has begun to work against Russia, as money and weapons stockpiles are running out. However, there are also risks for Ukraine due to the consequences of shelling.

He shared these insights in his blog.

According to the expert, American analysts at the Institute for the Study of War emphasize that time no longer favors the Kremlin, since Russia’s model of military Keynesianism leads to critical overheating of the economy. The labor shortage, he continues, amounts to 5 million people, and the depletion of Soviet-era armored vehicles in storage depots indicates that Russia’s offensive capabilities could begin to degrade by 2026.

“But we must also understand that the enemy is trying to weaken us, constantly striking Ukrainian territory, and our people are suffering. The situation on the front is difficult; our defenders are acting selflessly and heroically to stop the enemy. In the rear, the enemy targets our homes, civilian and critical infrastructure, trying to weaken us. But overall, despite everything, we are holding on,” stresses Oleksandr Musiienko.

At the same time, the expert notes, Financial Times evaluates the development and potential of the Ukrainian economy positively, writing about its growth prospects. However, he adds, we should not forget that Russia still has more reserves and resources.

“Yes, they are depleting them because they are essentially fighting with the money they have. Russia is burning through the National Wealth Fund. Everything that could go to social needs, economic development, and the budget for growth is going to the war. But at the same time, we have, so to speak, certain positive trends, as Financial Times writes,” concludes Oleksandr Musiienko.
