“Right now, our experience can be sold at a very high price to any country in the Middle East,” says the expert on countering Shahed drones

Political analyst Ruslan Bortnik stated that Arab countries do not know how to shoot down Iranian Shahed drones, but Ukraine is also unable to send personnel due to the war and, moreover, should avoid getting further entangled in the Middle East, reports Politeka.

He spoke about this on his blog.

As the expert emphasizes, Arab countries have proven incapable of providing basic counter-drone tools — they have not created mobile fire groups, there are no interceptor drones, and videos show Shaheds simply falling while no one even shoots at them. All of this, he notes, has been placed on aviation and ground-based air defense systems, but these tools are limited and extremely expensive.

“Therefore, the Ukrainian experience with interceptor drones and mobile fire groups would be useful. Right now, our experience could be sold at a very high price to any country in the Middle East. At the same time, I think Ukraine simply cannot allocate a significant number of specialists, because everyone is already engaged in the war,” Ruslan Bortnik argues.

The expert also points out that even Cyprus suffered from Iran, although it would seem to have nothing to do with the Middle East. But the problem, he explains, is not that Cyprus has bad relations with Iran, but that a British military base is located on its territory, providing technological intelligence in the region. Without this base, he says, Cypriots would not have been attacked, and Iranian missiles are capable of reaching as far as Ukraine.

“I’m saying this to emphasize that every time we talk about security guarantees and make conditions such as deploying allied troops on our territory, we must remember that there may be another war in which we are not involved at all, yet we could become a target for an adversary simply because foreign bases are stationed on our soil. This must be treated very cautiously. That is why many Persian Gulf countries are suffering now. And Cyprus as well,” Ruslan Bortnik warns.
