An expert explained what Ukraine will receive in return for sending drone specialists to the Middle East

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko commented on the decision to send Ukrainian interceptor-drone specialists to Jordan and assessed what Ukraine might get in return, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his blog.

“I believe this is about training personnel. I don’t know whether they will be American soldiers—possibly they will be. Perhaps it will be a joint American-Jordanian military mission, plus military personnel from Middle Eastern countries who will be ready to learn how to shoot down drones using our interceptors,” Oleksandr Musiienko noted.

According to the expert, this issue is very relevant because, as some media outlets report, certain Middle Eastern countries have shot down Iranian drones using Patriot systems. Ukraine never even considered such an approach, he said, because it is not rational. Instead, other options were sought—mobile fire groups were created, and air defense systems and interceptors were used.

The expert also noted that it is important to understand that one can talk as much as they want about weakening the enemy, but it is enough to look at Iran: sanctions, strikes across the country, Tehran burning—yet it still attacks the entire Middle East with drones. Therefore, he concluded, it is necessary to develop small-scale air defense systems and assess whether it is worth getting involved in other people’s wars.

“Is it worth sending anyone abroad given that we ourselves are at war? How did Middle Eastern countries help us during the full-scale Russian invasion? What did they do for us? Did they respond urgently to our needs? That’s the question. And it is categorically unacceptable for us to be drawn into some kind of military campaign against Iran in one way or another. For us, this is completely impractical. We will gain nothing from it. Let’s be honest. We’ll see. Right now, things are not going very well for the Arab countries. But what will they say when things get better for them? They will act like the United States,” Oleksandr Musiienko concluded.
