"Watch the hands, not the tongue, especially since there are many tongues now," — political analyst on Trump’s negotiations and plan

Donald Trump

Political analyst Ruslan Bortnik stated that soon Trump will decide who is ruining his plans and derailing the negotiations — Europe with Ukraine or Russia — and then we will see new sanctions, reports Politeka.

He shared this in his blog.

According to the expert, we are currently at a stage of informational hysteria. That is, he claims, the negotiations have not failed and have not ended — it's just that when it comes to a big deal, emotions come into play: loud statements, waving hands, slamming doors, saying "I’m leaving, I’m not interested, catch up if you can," and so on.

"We are in the stage of bargaining and informational hysteria that accompanies this bargaining. The negotiations haven't ended or failed, but they are entering an acute and critical phase before our very eyes. So from now on, we watch the hands, not the tongue — especially since there are many tongues now, and the press is also trying to shape public opinion," said Ruslan Bortnik.

As the expert reasons, if the United States considers Europe and Ukraine responsible for disrupting the peace talks, then military aid to Ukraine will be stopped again, and some new tariffs or other forms of economic restrictions may be imposed on Europe. In other words, he notes, we will see relations deteriorate, and the U.S. will use practical methods to tame the unruly.

"Secondly, more will become clear after Witkoff’s visit to Moscow — where he is quite liked. It seems he spends more time in the Kremlin lately than with his own wife. And I think consequences will follow after Witkoff's time in Moscow — in some way, clarity will emerge. But again, practical U.S. policy towards Moscow will be a marker of what’s going on and who the U.S. sees as guilty. If there are sanctions and restrictions soon, it means Washington considers Moscow to be at fault," concluded Ruslan Bortnik.
