“A trend is being observed”: expert assesses the significance of the strike on a Russian aircraft repair plant in Novgorod

war

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko commented on the attack on the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in the Novgorod region and explained why such strikes are exactly what is needed, Politeka reports. He spoke about this on his blog.

According to the expert, this enterprise specializes in servicing and repairing Russia’s military transport aviation, namely Il-76, Il-78, and L-410 aircraft. Russia, he notes, frequently uses them in the war against Ukraine to transport ammunition or personnel over long distances when rapid deployment is required.

“You know, I dream of us having the capability to suppress Russia’s air defense systems the way Israel and the United States did in Iran. They destroyed or significantly damaged air defense systems and gained greater air superiority. Thanks to this, Israel attacked 1,700 targets of Iran’s military-industrial complex and dropped about 10,000 aerial bombs, missiles, and other munitions. Israel says that substantial progress has effectively been made in destroying Iran’s missile and drone program,” Musiienko reflects.

Thus, the expert notes, Iran still retains the ability to strike back—it launches missiles with cluster warheads at Israel, just as Russia does in Ukraine—but Iran’s missile program and its military-industrial complex have nevertheless suffered significant damage.

“If only we had the ability to strike 1,700 targets and drop 10,000 munitions. Putin would already be facing serious problems with both drones and ballistic weapons. Just bomb the ‘Alabuga’ site in Tatarstan, where Shaheds and Gerans are produced. Or weapons facilities in Kronstadt, or the plants of the Kalashnikov concern… Just imagine, it would be powerful. But within our capabilities, a trend is being observed: Ukraine continues to carry out systematic strikes on Russia’s military-industrial complex, its military logistics, and capabilities,” Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
