“Cuba has no electricity again at all”: an expert explains why Trump staged a blackout

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman commented on Trump’s promise to bomb Iranian power plants if the Strait of Hormuz is not unblocked within 48 hours, and assessed what this resembles, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on his blog.
“Trump has pulled Putin’s mask over himself. When Putin began bombing power plants, if you remember, the International Criminal Court in The Hague put Shoigu, Gerasimov, and the commanders of the Black Sea Fleet and the Air Force on the wanted list. And now Trump is saying: ‘We will bomb power plants,’” Mikhail Sheitelman comments.
According to him, in this situation Trump is no different from Putin: he wants to freeze Iran and its people. The weather in Tehran, the expert emphasizes, is not very warm—it’s only slightly warmer than in Kyiv—so as a citizen of Israel, he now even feels uneasy about being an ally of the United States in this situation.
When Israel bombs Iranian oil and gas fields, he notes, it deprives Iran of revenue, whereas Trump wants to deprive the residents of Tehran of electricity.
“By the way, at the same time he continues the blockade of Cuba. In Cuba there is once again no electricity at all. Ten million people there are living without power. And it was Trump who deprived them of it. Did Cuba really deserve this? What do you mean? Has Cuba attacked anyone now—Haiti? Florida? Why impose a blackout on them? It’s clear why Ukraine today is ready to impose a retaliatory blackout on Russians—that’s understandable, completely symmetrical. But why is Trump punishing Cubans? It’s completely unclear. Who have Cubans attacked?” Mikhail Sheitelman concludes.
