Minus Orbán: Expert Assesses Whether Pressure on Ukraine Will Ease After Magyar’s Victory

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that Magyar’s victory in the elections is a positive development, but other European leaders may share Orbán’s stance on Ukraine and continue exerting pressure.

He said this in his blog.

“The problem is not just Hungary. The problem is that other EU countries may share Hungary’s position and have used Orbán as a battering ram. Again, for obvious reasons — there is Orbán, so why draw attention to themselves, provoke public outrage, political backlash, or media criticism? Why do that? Let’s just use Orbán,” Musiienko explains.

The expert emphasizes that this is not only about the position of the United States or Trump. Such forces do exist, and they are implementing — or trying to implement — a policy of pressure on Ukraine so that we are ready to make concessions to Russia and thus reach an agreement to stop the war.

“So the 90 billion is not simply about delaying payments because someone felt like it. No, this is policy. It is also an element of pressure on us, because we need these funds, and their allocation is being postponed. The 20th package of sanctions against Russia has still not been introduced, although it was supposed to be adopted before the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February this year. But that did not happen. So the question is how these forces and countries will react. We will see,” Musiienko stresses.

Thus, the expert concludes, the struggle will continue. Not without reason, he recalls, President Zelensky warned that we are entering a difficult period — and this is not only about the front line. Budanov also said that unity is needed, as pressure on Ukraine may intensify.
