Belarus Prepares for War: Expert Assesses Whether There Are Real Threats to Ukraine

Lukashenko

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko commented on reports about road construction in Belarus near the borders with Ukraine and assessed whether Lukashenko is likely to enter the war, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his blog.

As Syrskyi reported, the expert says, in addition to roads, there is also construction of a military camp and artillery positions along the border with the Chernihiv, Kyiv, and Zhytomyr regions. It is likely, he suggests, that Russia plans to install additional relay stations in Belarus to support drone flights. However, the expert recalls that this has happened before; later Fedorov stated that there were no antennas—possibly they were destroyed—while Lukashenko did not comment on it.

“An interesting detail, wouldn’t you agree? They were destroyed. If Lukashenko agrees with this and raises no objections, it means that in fact he is vulnerable—that any military facility in Belarus that potentially threatens Ukraine can be destroyed. That’s it. And Lukashenko will remain silent,” Oleksandr Musiienko claims.

According to the expert, large-scale offensive actions can only be discussed when a significant redeployment of Russian units is observed—and this is not currently the case. Moreover, he adds, if enemy troops begin advancing from Belarusian territory, they will be met by Ukrainian drones, artillery, counterstrikes, mined roads, and destroyed bridges. The Russians’ plan, the expert concludes, also includes spreading the threat of shelling to Volyn, Polissia, the Lviv region, and the central regions of the country.

“Of course, theoretically such chances remain as long as the war continues—we understand this. But it will only be possible to talk about it when a large-scale redeployment of Russian units is recorded. At present, this is not being observed,” Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
