“International law is being violated”: an expert explains why Israel is buying stolen Ukrainian grain

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko commented on the scandal surrounding Israel allegedly purchasing stolen Ukrainian grain and assessed the possible consequences, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this in his blog.
According to the expert, this is a scandalous situation and a crisis in relations, as it turns out—according to one of Israel’s leading newspapers—that a second vessel carrying stolen Ukrainian grain from occupied territories has already arrived in Israel. As he emphasizes, this violates international law, Ukraine’s relations with Israel, and the Western sanctions regime against Russia’s shadow fleet. It would be useful, the expert suggests, if the Ukrainian community in Israel spoke out against this—of course, as much as possible, given that gatherings are limited to 50–75 people and Netanyahu is wary of protests against him.
“We are interested in normal relations; we are interested in a proper strategic dialogue. But not at the cost of violating Ukrainian legislation and international law. That cannot be allowed. And, of course, this must be firmly pointed out. It is right that the Foreign Ministry reacted immediately,” Musiienko emphasizes.
In his opinion, there should be maximum publicity, as Ukraine is defending its national interests and sovereignty. According to the expert, it is necessary to shut down the schemes of profiteers trading in stolen Ukrainian grain—grain stained with the blood of our patriots.
“Is this a demonstration of some pro-Russian steps by the Israeli government? This is nonsense, because Russia is helping Iran wage war against Israel and supports terrorist groups in the Middle East. And to say that there can still be any contacts with Russia… How can this be explained normally? It cannot. Has a pro-Russian lobby really taken hold in Israel?” Musiienko concludes.
