“Everything Will Be Decided in Beijing”: Expert Assesses Whether Trump and Xi Will Reach an Agreement on the Russian-Ukrainian War

Military expert Oleg Starikov explained why, after such an intense information campaign surrounding a possible strike on the May 9 parade, a ceasefire still followed, and assessed whether the issue of the war will ultimately be decided in Beijing, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his channel.

“The goal of the IPSO (psychological operation) was achieved regarding the strike on the parade. All that remained was to wait until May 9 to see whether the parade in Moscow would take place or not, and then rest on the laurels. But then, on May 8, something happened. No one in the world can stop the kinetic energy that had already gained momentum, except for two forces — the United States or China,” Oleg Starikov noted.

Why these powers intervened in the situation is difficult to say with certainty, he argues, but perhaps it was because a strike on the May 9 parade could have pushed the world to the brink of a major war in the European theater involving tactical nuclear weapons, making the process uncontrollable. Moreover, the expert adds, a meeting between Xi Jinping and Trump in Beijing had long been planned after the parade.

According to him, the future course of global politics is being decided there: where the world will move during the transition to the sixth technological cycle, whether there will be joint projects in space exploration and new technologies that could provide entirely new opportunities for humanity, or whether the world will become fragmented, with everyone retreating into their own “apartments,” and each bloc or alliance developing separately from global trade and communication. That, the expert notes, is why Trump included the heads of the largest American corporations in the delegation.

“Everything will be decided in Beijing regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war. First, during negotiations between the global hegemons — the United States and China — and then Putin will also come to Beijing to finalize the process. One could say that Putin will simply be informed of the decision and will have to carry it out. Either he becomes a junior partner of China or of the United States. But the decision will be made. And everyone will have to comply with it — either voluntarily or under pressure,” Oleg Starikov concluded.
