Defense Forces broke through the layered air defense around Moscow: expert assesses the largest strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the war

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained which targets were hit during the strike on the Moscow region and what this large-scale attack means for Russia.

He said this in his blog.

“This is the largest strike during the war. The Defense Forces operated at an extremely high level. There was an order from the President of Ukraine that strikes were necessary. And that is correct. I constantly say that the war needs to be brought onto the enemy’s territory, given that the situation on the battlefield is not undergoing significant changes, and breakthroughs on the front for both sides seem difficult. We need to strike Russian territory and scale up these attacks,” Oleksandr Musiienko claims.

According to him, the “Angstrem” plant was hit, which produces electronics and semiconductors and is perhaps the only facility of this level in Russia working for the production of drones and Russian missiles. In addition, the expert adds, the situation with air defense is difficult, the number of systems is not increasing, so it is necessary to strike production sites for drones and Russian missiles, as well as other defense-industrial complex facilities involved.

He also continues that the oil pumping stations “Solnechnogorskaya” and “Volodarskaya” were hit. This, the expert explains, could mean that Moscow may soon face a gasoline shortage, and it could also create problems for the chemical industry.

“Muscovites, get ready. The Defense Forces have broken through the layered air defense around Moscow. As President Zelensky rightly noted, the war is returning to its home harbor, meaning Russia. By the way, it is possible to assess certain air defense systems, because some missiles either fell to the ground or hit residential buildings. This shows that even around Moscow, not everything is fine with air defense. It shows that the systems are outdated and do not deliver proper results; in fact, they are not working effectively. Russia is experiencing a shortage of high-quality and reliable air defense systems; they cannot properly protect even Moscow. They have fought themselves into a corner,” Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
