“An Exchange of Courtesies Is Underway”: Expert Explains How the U.S. Wants to Defeat China Through Iran

Economist Eric Naiman explained that the meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping did not end with the signing of any agreements because China wants too much, while the United States has decided to wait, reports Politeka.
He spoke about this on Valeriy Savchuk’s author program “Different People.”
According to the program’s guest, it is obvious that Trump and Xi Jinping did not sign anything substantial during the meeting. A secret protocol cannot be ruled out, but there are no signs of it so far. Apparently, the next meeting will take place in September and possibly another one in December, while working groups will continue negotiations in the meantime. In general, he argues, it is important to understand how the Chinese conduct negotiations: first they entertain and host you, and then at the very last moment they present an agreement—and if you sign it, you immediately lose because the terms are unfavorable to you.
"That is why there was no joint communiqué, no joint statement, nothing joint at all. To me, this is an indicator that nothing serious was actually signed. The Americans understand the situation in the Chinese economy and believe there is no need to rush. The question is: who does time favor?" Eric Naiman argues.
As the expert explains, the war in Iran creates greater difficulties for China if it continues, because China buys resources from Iran, whereas the United States buys nothing from Iran. The U.S., he says, allowed thirty Chinese tankers to leave the Strait of Hormuz, apparently in exchange for payment in rare-earth metals.
"Therefore, time is working against China. Depression is growing in China, the demographic crisis is worsening in China, and the debt crisis is intensifying in China. China needs the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to the war in Iran more than the United States does. So what we are seeing is an exchange of courtesies. It is roughly the same as with Russia. At one time, the strategy was to strangle the Russian economy, and now the same strategy is being applied to the Chinese economy," asserts Eric Naiman.
