“This Means Triple Losses”: Expert Speaks About Another Strike on Moscow Oil Refinery

Political expert and Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko said that Ukraine’s Defense Forces have once again struck the oil refinery in Kapotnya, which had only recently come out of repairs. According to him, the strike caused triple losses, while there are still many more targets in Moscow.

He spoke about this on his blog.

Several months ago, the expert recalls, there was a first attack on the Moscow oil refinery in Kapotnya. The facility was under repair for a long time, which cost a significant amount of money, as expensive equipment had to be obtained in circumvention of sanctions, making it even more costly. And now, he notes, there was another strike last night. Two primary oil refining units were hit, which will lead to a complete shutdown of fuel production at the refinery that had only recently been restored.

“As they say in the advertisement, I love it. This means triple losses because the refinery was put out of operation, it was not processing fuel, it was not selling fuel, it was idle, and that means losses, lost profits. The second loss is that they had to purchase equipment and pay for the refinery repairs. And the third is that the refinery is not operating again. We need to inflict triple losses on Russia’s oil and gas industry. Whatever the budget may be, they will not be able to cope, because these losses will only grow. And even if they do manage to compensate for them, it will come at the cost of investing less in weapons production and having fewer resources for the war,” Oleksandr Musiienko explains.

The attack, he emphasizes, took place within a radius of 10–15 kilometers from the Kremlin. This is no longer the outskirts or some forests, but the Moscow metropolitan area itself, where quite a number of important and innovative defense-industry facilities are concentrated. Therefore, the frequency of strikes there should be increased. According to the expert, this is definitely not the end and not the last strike on Moscow and the Moscow metropolitan area.

“The war needs to be brought onto Russian territory. We need to create maximum problems and explain that these are the consequences of Putin’s policies. The paradigm of thinking has to change. Medvedev recently stated that Russia cannot exist without greatness, and that expansion is necessary for greatness. He explained the essence of the existence of the modern Russian state — a neo-imperial, neocolonial policy of a genocidal nature. This meaning needs to be changed and it needs to be shown that there will be no greatness, that they have gotten themselves into serious trouble by launching a full-scale war against Ukraine, and now they will have to face the consequences. And this needs to be shown to Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the largest cities,” Oleksandr Musiienko states.
