"Comedianship" or delaying the process: an expert explained why Putin will not go to talks in Turkey

Putin

Political expert and military officer Alexander Musienko explained that Putin will reject direct negotiations with Zelensky, since his strategy is to delay the process with endless meetings of delegations, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this in his blog.

"Russian propaganda has already turned on. Federal channels say that they are actually rejecting the possibility of Putin's participation in the meeting in Istanbul, and Zelensky's statement was called comedy," - Alexander Musienko notes.

In particular, the expert says, the vice-speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev told propaganda channels that Zelensky's intention to invite Putin to Istanbul is a spectacle and comedy, and added that such a meeting at the highest level is currently impossible. In addition, he adds, the Russian official found words in Zelensky's statement that are intended to shift responsibility for the lack of negotiations onto Russia and to create an image of Moscow as a party that refuses dialogue.

"Obviously, it doesn't matter what the vice speaker, or even the speaker, or other officials say, because in Russia, only what Putin says matters, not his talking heads and court minions. But at the same time, this will be the line they will follow. That is, for now, Russia is adhering to the line that Putin will not go, that he does not want to," explains Oleksandr Musienko.

According to the expert, Putin's strategy will be to have delegations of different levels meet, not presidents, and that each such meeting will be devoted to different topics - a ceasefire, humanitarian issues, prisoners, illegally taken Ukrainian children, etc. That is, he states, in this situation everything will happen step by step, with maximum delay of the process, against the background of which the war continues.
