The front will not collapse, - a military expert on the tactical crisis in the Pokrovsk direction

war in Ukraine

Military expert Oleg Starikov told what is happening in the Pokrovsk direction now, whether there is a crisis, what the enemy's plan is and whether the city's defense will hold out, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on his channel.

"They have now entered the summer military campaign and have begun the first stage, which involves conducting reconnaissance in force on all fronts. They found our weak spot in the Pokrovsk direction. Remember, I always said that Pokrovsk is the direction of the main attack. And here they found exactly the cut between the eastern flank of the Pokrovsk direction and the western flank of the Toretsk direction," says Oleg Starikov.

As he explains, each brigade holds its 20-50 km, and between them there is always a place called a weakness, and the Russians found it, because commanders always pay more attention to the center, the flanks in this case remain a weakness. On our part, the expert adds, it was necessary to transfer reserves, but, obviously, either they did not have time, or there were not enough of them, so the Russians went 10 km deeper.

"These are elements of a tactical crisis, but a tactical crisis in itself with a combat contact line of 1000 km does not particularly affect anything. That is, it does affect, but not the operational and strategic component. That is, there will be no collapse of the front. But if there is no further localization of this enemy offensive, then this crisis can develop into a real tactical crisis with elements of an operational-tactical crisis," explains Oleg Starikov.

As he emphasizes, Pokrovsk is a serious fortified area, so the Russians will try to bypass it in order to cut off logistics from the west and north, or at least take it under fire control. This, the expert warns, could lead to a reduction in the combat capability of our garrison, which is holding the defense in Pokrovsk, and either we will have to retreat, or we will be able to strike the enemy faster than he can destroy the logistics.
