Expert assesses whether NATO will have time to prepare for war with Russia

NATO

Political expert and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko commented on whether Russia is truly planning military operations on NATO territory, as claimed by President Zelensky and Ukrainian intelligence, according to Politeka.

He discussed this in his blog.

As President Zelensky emphasized, Musiienko notes, Western countries must stop Putin in Ukraine, as his ambitions extend beyond Ukrainian borders. The expert recalls that he has repeatedly stressed Russia might be preparing for combat actions or provocations on NATO territory.

“This is already happening and can be tracked. For example, there is preparation of troops, T-90 tanks, armored vehicles — all of which the enemy could use against NATO countries. These are currently being produced, stockpiled, and not being sent to Ukraine,” Musiienko underscores.

According to the expert, the Finns believe this buildup is meant to reinforce the Leningrad Military District. Another theory is that it’s part of the preparations for the Russian-Belarusian military drills “Zapad-2025,” scheduled to take place in September this year on the territory of Belarus and partly in Russia. However, he states, hybrid operations against NATO countries are already a possibility today.

“Russia could be ready to launch an offensive against NATO countries by 2030. And let’s be honest — European countries, with or without the United States, have more than enough time to prepare, especially if we count from the annexation of Crimea in 2014. Fine, some ignored the annexation, but since 2022 — the full-scale invasion of Ukraine — NATO and EU countries have had enough time to make the necessary decisions, fund defense programs, increase weapons production, expand their armed forces, and do everything to ensure that Putin understands that any actions against NATO or Europe will be futile and that Russia will be stopped,” Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
