Russia Wants to Disrupt Elections in Moldova: Expert Claims Destabilization Efforts Are Underway

Moldova

Political expert and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that Russia is destabilizing all countries that are breaking free from its influence, and now it's Moldova's turn, where elections are approaching, according to Politeka.
He discussed this in his blog.

According to the expert, Russian intelligence services have set up training camps for mercenaries in Serbia and neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina. Moldovan citizens were recruited for the operation, he added, and were asked to hand over their phones and passports. One of the mercenaries, Maksym Rozka, revealed that they were promised a reward of $300 to $500 for 10 days of training.

“The purpose of these trainings is to disrupt the presidential elections in Moldova in 2025. The authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina deny the existence of such camps, but the prosecutor's office has opened a criminal investigation,” Oleksandr Musiienko noted.

According to the expert, Russia is indeed continuing its efforts to destabilize the Balkan region, including Moldova, although these attempts have so far been unsuccessful. He explains that Russia cannot forgive the Moldovan government for choosing the path of European integration and strengthening ties with Ukraine, so it is trying to destabilize the country—just as it is doing with Armenia, which is also now pursuing its own independent course.

“In general, the detachment from Russia in every sense by our neighbors is very important. And if necessary, I believe Ukraine is always ready to help with consultation, advice, and possibly more. All Moldova needs to do is ask. We all know what is stationed in the unrecognized Transnistria region—this issue should have been resolved long ago. All it takes is a signal from the Moldovan authorities, likely an official one,” Musiienko concluded.
